Academic Word List (AWL), üniversite düzeyindeki akademik metinlerde en sık geçen kelime aileleridir. YDS'nin okuma ve gramer bölümlerinde bu listenin %60'ına yakını karşınıza çıkar.
Strateji: AWL kelimelerini bağlamda öğrenin. Sözlükten ezberlemek yerine bir cümlede görmek akılda çok daha iyi kalır.

🔗 Bağlaçlar ve Geçiş İfadeleri
YDS okuma sorularında cevabı bağlam içinde bulmak için metindeki bağlaçları hızlıca tanımak kritik önem taşır. Bu ifadeler anlam ilişkilerini (neden-sonuç, karşıtlık, örnekleme) belirler.
Dikkat: "Although" ve "even though" zıt anlam taşıyan yan cümle oluştururken "however" ve "nevertheless" iki bağımsız cümleyi bağlar. Bu fark YDS gramer bölümünde sıkça sorulur.

YDS'nin önemli bir kısmı fen bilimleri pasajlarından oluşur. Fizik, kimya, biyoloji ve teknoloji metinlerinde bu kelimeleri tanımak okuma hızınızı ciddi oranda artırır.

🎯 YDS Kelime Çalışma Stratejisi
Kelime ezberlemek tek başına yeterli değil. YDS'de kelimelerin bağlam içindeki anlamını kavramak, sözcük ailelerini tanımak ve sınavda zaman yönetimini doğru kurmak kritik öneme sahiptir.
1. Sözcük ailelerini öğrenin: "analyse" kelimesini öğrenirken "analysis" (isim), "analytical" (sıfat), "analyst" (kişi) formlarını da edinin. YDS kelime soruları sıkça bu geçişleri test eder.
2. Bağlamlı öğrenme: Kelimeyi bir cümle içinde gördüğünüzde hafızanız çok daha iyi çalışır. Cümle kartları (flashcard) veya okuma parçalarından öğrenme ezberlemeyi 3 kata kadar hızlandırır.
3. Günde 10-20 kelime: YDS'ye 3 ay kala haftada 5 gün çalışırsanız toplam 600-900 kelimeye ulaşabilirsiniz. Bu, sınavın büyük bölümünü rahatça okumanızı sağlar.
Dikkat — False friends (Sahte eşdeğerler): "Sensible" = mantıklı (sensitive değil), "actual" = gerçek (şimdiki değil), "eventually" = sonunda (belki anlamında değil). Bu kelimeler YDS'de sıkça tuzak soru olarak çıkar.
